The 2026 Westerner Days Parade in Red Deer was a special day for our agency. It marked the second time we had participated in the parade, and everyone was excited to be involved once again. Staff arrived early that morning, full of energy and pride, ready to represent the agency and celebrate with the community.
As the parade began, there was a wonderful atmosphere throughout the city. Crowds lined the streets, waving and cheering as floats, performers, and community groups passed by. Our staff smiled, waved to spectators, and enjoyed being part of such an important Red Deer tradition.
The excitement grew as we made our way along the parade route. The loud cheering from the crowd and the enthusiasm of participants created an unforgettable experience. People clapped, children waved, and many community members recognized our agency and showed their support.
One particularly memorable moment came as we passed the CSS office, which is located right along the parade route. Staff and supporters gathered outside, cheering loudly and encouraging us as we went by. Their excitement was contagious, and it gave our team an extra boost of energy and pride. Seeing familiar faces and hearing their enthusiastic support reminded us of the strong connections we have within our community.
Throughout the parade, staff were happy and grateful to take part. It was an opportunity to celebrate our work, connect with residents, and demonstrate our commitment to the people we serve. The smiles, laughter, and sense of community made the event truly special.
As the parade came to an end, everyone agreed that participating in the Westerner Days Parade for the second time was a wonderful experience. The loud cheering, enthusiastic crowds, and warm support from the CSS office and the community made the day one to remember. Our staff left feeling proud, appreciated, and already looking forward to future parades.
