Elpida House Programs

Elpida is the Greek Word for Hope.

  • Elpida House for Women houses up to 13 women on Federal Day Parole
  • Elpida House West houses up to 15 men on Federal Day Parole and is wheelchair accessible
  • Elpida House East houses up to 18 men on Federal Day Parole

The goal of these residential programs is to assist men and women who are on Federal Day Parole or Statutory Release, with or without identified substance use issues, to establish a positive support system, learn independent living skills, and make a successful transition back into the community as a productive member of society.

Clients are accommodated in furnished apartments and are responsible for maintaining their own suites, including cooking and cleaning.

It is our goal to have clients live in a setting that is similar to living in their own homes in the community while ensuring that support is available at all times. Appropriate referrals to treatment centres and other community resources will be utilized as required.

Productive and positive relationships exist among the residents when each member takes an active role in accepting responsibility for themselves while respecting the needs of others.

Elpida House staff will also serve as an advocate between the resident and the community.
