CORE Skills is a Health Care Aide training program we offer to Immigrants and Refugees.

In partnership with NorQuest College, this 10-month program provides support and work experience to all newcomers looking to enter the Health Care industry . Upon completion, students receive the Government of Alberta Health Care Aide Certificate. Graduates of the Health Care Aide program are qualified to work in group homes, long term care and assisted living facilities, and hospitals.

Applicants must be eligible for Student Financial Assistance; have strong English language skills (minimum Canadian Language Benchmark level 5); and have a good understanding of working with seniors and people with disabilities.

Not sure what your Candian Language Benchmark level is? Contact our Lanaguage Assessment, Referral and Counselling Centre (LARCC) and schedule an assessment with our coordinators.
