We held our Uplift: Day of Mercy event on Saturday, October 1, supporting those in need within the Edmonton community. Approximately 800 guests came down to St. Alphonsus Parish and Eastwood Community League, along 118 Avenue, where they enjoyed live entertainment and fun activities for the entire family.

Guests of the event were treated to free services from our many wonderful partners. Throughout the event, our volunteer mechanic from Mud, Sweat and Gears offered bicycle repairs, while counsellors from Gianna Centre and Mercy Counselling provided on-site support for those requiring special assistance.

A wide selection of outerwear, clothing, and supplies donated by Covenant Health, STAR Catholic School Division, Edmonton Catholic School District, Elk Island Catholic Schools, Greater St. Albert Catholic Schools, and Evergreen Catholic Schools, were also available for guests.

Hairstylists from MC College gave our guests a new up-do with beautiful haircuts, before they headed over to the portrait station for a fun photoshoot led by Burwell School of Photography. Guests also enjoyed a delicious meal prepared by Covenant Health, and BCI Benefit Consultants whipped up cotton candy to satisfy the sweet tooth of guests. Keeping our guests entertained all afternoon were local musicians Liam Whatley and Chaka Band, who both played energetic sets.

We thank everyone for their overwhelming support and generosity in making this event possible for those in our community.
