About Candida Shepherd

Tan’si. My name is Candida Shepherd. I am a Jr./Sr. high school teacher in Sherwood Park. I specialize in Special Education and I am the First Nations, Metis and Inuit lead teacher. Currently, I work for the Government of Alberta as a Curriculum Consultant for the First Nations, Métis and Inuit Branch. I am a long-time member of Sacred Heart Church of the First Peoples, serving both on the Pastoral Parish Committee and as President of the Catholic Woman’s League. As a proud member of the Opitemisiwak Metis Nation of Alberta here in District 11, it is my pleasure to share my culture and to share my journey as a knowledge-seeker.

I live in Sherwood Park with my husband, my son and my daughter. I am also the mom of two big-breed dogs and two lazy cats. I look forward to my time as part of Catholic Social Services.

A Short Headline or Title

A short description perhaps a sentance or two. It's important to consider the height of your box. If your box is too tall, parts of it may be hidden on smaller laptop screens. If using a photo, it is best to to keep it dimensionaly short. For example, 800 x 300 would be a good standard image size. Use the width setting to help control height. Test different devices
