Edmonton-area blogger Mark Pickup, who runs the website humanlifematters.org, was the guest speaker at our third Sophia Talks event, which was held for our staff at our Edmonton administration office earlier this month.

Diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in the mid-1980s, Mark speaks about his struggle as he came to terms with living with the disease. Noting that he may have sought assisted suicide had it been available 30 years ago, Mark calls upon CSS staff to care for the depressed and those who may seek assisted suicide.

"Remember, quality of life is a moving target," he said during his speech. "Today what gives my life value is to love, and to be loved."
