Staff in our Wainwright FASD Ministry hosted a BBQ to promote awareness for Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder in the community!
Hosted at our Wainwright CSS office on Saturday, September 9, over 130 people came out to support this wonderful cause and enjoyed a delicious meal prepared by our staff and community partners, along with other fun activities throughout the day.
The event was an initiative organized by our FASD ministry to celebrate International FASD Awareness Day, a joint effort across the globe to educate and inform others about the dangers of drinking alcohol during pregnancy and the plight of individuals and families who are living with FASD. International FASD Awareness Day takes place on the 9th day of the 9th month of the year—representing the 9 months of pregnancy.
Thanks to the support from our friends at AECOM, NAPA, Elks, Royal Canadian Legion, Home Hardware, and Prairie Central Network for making this a successful event.
